Extra Accessory For The Mobile Stairlift Evacuation Chair

EZ Evacuation Foldable Medical Stair Lift Chair - Minor Cosmetic Defects FAQs

What is the seat height?

The stairlift seat is 20” off the ground, which makes for an easy transition from an average chair.

What are the exact dimensions of the chair?
  • Net Weight: 33.07 lbs.
  • Folded Up: Width 20.86” x Height 43.3” x Depth 11.8”
  • Set Up Operational Mode: Width 20.86” x Height 43.3” (Extended Height 63”) x Depth 37”
Is the Evacuation Chair battery-operated?

The Evacuation Chair is not battery-operated. It does not require any electrical charge or battery to function.

Does the operator in the back of the chair have to walk backwards if going up a staircase?

Yes, but the operator controls the pace of the ascent. For additional safety, we recommend another person to act as a spotter.

How about round staircases?

No. The Evacuation Chair does not work on round staircases.

How much space do I need on the landings?

It is recommended that you have 40” of clearance on the top landing, and 38” of clearance on the bottom landing.

When making a 90 degree turn on a landing between staircases, we recommend a space of 44” x 44”.

Do I have the strength to operate the Mobile Stairlift Evacuation Chair?

The Evacuation Chair is able to be operated by most individuals who have full mobility and are between the ages of 20-70 years old.

To fully determine if you have the strength to operate the Evac Chair, have someone of equal weight to a potential patient sit in a chair (this can be a simple desk or dining table chair). Lean the chair back to a sixty-degree angle, and hold the chair in place for thirty seconds. If you can manage this, then you can operate the Evac Chair.

Can the rider operate the Mobile Stairlift Evacuation Chair alone?

No, the rider cannot operate the Evacuation Chair alone.

As a company policy, for maximum safety we recommend, two people assist when ascending or descending a staircase. The operator stands behind the rider and uses the main handlebar and buttons to control the ascent or descent, and the spotter holds the front handles as a precaution.

Are there any specific requirements for someone to operate this?

The operator should be in good physical health. We recommend the operator to be between the ages of 20-70.

Will this work on carpeted stairs? How about Wood, Cement etc?

The Mobile Stairlift Evacuation Chair will work on cement, wood, iron, stone, stairs, both indoors and outdoors. This product also works on carpeted stairs, but only if the carpet is fully attached to the stairs and not on a staircase with a throw carpet or runner, because the carpet could slip under the tracks.

Do you offer wholesale pricing for DME shops?

Yes, please use our contact form to reach out for more details. You may also email us at info@climbingsteps.com or call us at (212)366-5483.

What is your warranty policy?

We have a full 5 (five) year policy on the entire chair for any damage caused by manufacturing malfunction.

  • Installation

With the Evacuation Chair, there is no installation process. You can use this on virtually any staircase to safely and securely transport an individual in an emergency situation.
